If you are buying at a coin collection, the first thing that you are going to want to do is set a budget. You want to know exactly how much you are going to be able to afford to spend at the convention. Do not allow yourself to go over this budget. Most people will take cash to the convention and will only carry the cash that they are allowed to spend. This helps to reign in spending and keep them in line with their budget.

The second thing that you are going to want to do when planning on buying at a coin collection is research the coins that you want to add to your collection. As a coin collector, you should know exactly how much the coins that you want are worth and should be able to identify any counterfeit coins. Without research, you will be unable to do so and could wind up with a fake coin.

Sellers

If you are selling your coins at a coin collecting convention, you are going to want to research the values of all of your coins. Then, you are going to want to place the price of those coins at prices significantly higher than that value. Buyers at coin collections are going to attempt to lower your prices through negotiations. If you start your coins at their values, you are going to lose money. If you start higher, you will eventually settle on a price that is close, if not above, the real value of the coin.

Sellers are also going to want to pay close attention to the appearance of their coins when heading into a coin collecting convention. You want to make sure that your coins are as clean as possible os that they attract as much attention as possible. People are simply less likely to buy coins that do not look as if they have been cared for.

These are just some of the various tips that you are going to want to take into consideration when you are heading to a coin collecting convention. Both buyers and sellers need to make sure that they are setting themselves up for success. By checking your prices, doing your research, and caring for your coins, you are guaranteeing that you walk away from both buying and selling as a winner.
